PERANCANGAN ALAT PENAMPIL RUPIAH PADA KWH METER BERBASIS MIKROKONTROLER AT89S51

KWH meter is commonly met in every electricity customer house as an instrument installed to know quantity of consumed energy and then the customer must pay this energy quantity in rupiah. In this research, a prototype of rupiah display device was made on KWH meter using microcontroller AT89S51 with optocoupler sensor to detect holes made on disk in the KWH meter and then it is displayed on LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). The result of examination and analysis shows that the system can run well. The optocoupler sensor detects infra red ray through the moving holes on the rotating disk and produces electric pulses. The microcontroller processes this pulses and then displays the result on LCD in rupiah.Keywords: KWH meter, microcontroller AT89S51, optocoupler sensor.
